B|E Retrofit delivers for Seiberlich Trane on the Building Envelope ECM of the 26 building, $20 million comprehensive energy savings project at Red Clay Consolidated School District.

The Challenge

B|E Retrofit was called in by Seiberlich Trane to assess, design and install weatherization measures for a series of 26 public schools located in New Castle County, Delaware. Clear from the start, this project required customized reporting that would simplify the process of a multi-site project for Seiberlich Trane’s Project Manager. In addition, the project required accurate look-ahead scheduling to simplify coordination, clear on-going communications to keep Seiberlich informed and on-site courtesy and professionalism to limit disruptions to building occupants.

The Solution

Our audit and project design team analyzed the building envelope of all 26 sites, customized documentation content and format to meet Seiberlich Trane’s requirements and provided accurate building-specific Reports. Our project manager then coordinated a team of our in-house professional crew leaders and installers in Delaware for the duration of the project.

• Investment Grade Audit and ECM Installation at 26 school buildings totaling over 2.9 million square feet of floor area.
  
• Air infiltration was blocked and sealed at major building envelope weaknesses:
  Door Weather Stripping – 391 Units
  Soffit Overhang and Wall Area Air Sealing – 1,900 SF
  Roof-Wall Intersection Air Sealing – 13,820 LF
  LF Window Perimeter Caulking – 16,100 LF
  Window Weather Stripping – 644 Units
